How to Practice Oil Pulling for Detoxification?


 

Our wellness coach, Dina Gavarieva demonstrates the ancient practice of oil pulling for deep cleansing and detoxification and explains the benefits of doing this regularly.

 

 

You will Need:

Coconut Oil or another carrier oil such as Gynura Oil
Your preferred Essential Oil
A Tablespoon
A Tongue Scraper

 

Recommended Essential Oils to Use for this Practice:

Peppermint Essential Oil
Clove Essential Oil
Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Rosemary Essential Oil
Grapefruit Essential Oil

 

How to Oil Pull

Take 1, not full, a tablespoon of Coconut or Gynura Oil. Add 1 drop of your chosen essential oil. Place in your mouth and swish around your mouth for as long as you can, from 3 to 10 minutes is ideal. Take some paper tissue and spit out the oil from your mouth. Then take a tongue scraper and gently scrape the surface of your tongue, taking care not to let it bleed.

Q. Should I brush my teeth before oil pulling?

A. There is no need to brush your teeth before oil pulling however it is recommended to do so after oil pulling to remove any loosened bacteria that may be left on the teeth or gums.

Q. How often should I practice oil pulling?

A. You can practice this daily however if this is not possible try to do this 3 times per week.

Q. What is the best time of day to oil pull?

A. This is best practised first thing in the morning before you eat or drink anything in order to remove the buildup of toxins in your mouth from the night.
