Nano Bath Therapy

A Bubble Bath with Health Benefits

Nanovated oxygen bath therapy is a revolutionary wellness system that delivers deeply enriching oxygen to cells.

It’s a unique therapy that generates negatively charged oxygen bubbles that are one hundred times smaller than human pores, making them capable of entering the body.

The treatment is super relaxing, refreshing and deeply cleansing, but it’s also a lot more than that. Studies show that a nano bath can help with a number of skin conditions, promote recovery from sports injuries and benefit patients who have undergone intensive treatments for illnesses such as cancer.

How It Works

The nano bath system produces billions of bubbles that deliver therapeutic levels of oxygen into the bathing water.

The oxygen-loaded microbubbles help the skin to regenerate by penetrating pores and washing away waste products to enable cells to absorb the maximum amount of oxygen possible, thereby enhancing metabolic health and growth and encouraging the release of toxins.

These miniature gas bubbles, measuring less than 50 microns (.002 inches) in diameter, are filled not only with oxygen, but also nitrogen and other gases. Due to their size, they hang in the water to form a ‘cloud’ around the bather before imploding under hydrostatic pressure, releasing oxygen and energy, in the form of heat, into the water. This heat energy allows the bathwater to maintain temperature and even rise by as much as one degree every twenty minutes.

As the nanobubbles are negatively charged, they attract dirt and impurities as they enter pores and sebaceous glands, providing a high level of detoxification and hydration to the skin. As the bubbles gently brush against the skin they clean and exfoliate on a micro-level.

What It Does

In recent years there has been increased research into the benefits of oxygen nano bubbles from leading universities including the Oxford Institute of Biomedical Engineering, the Biomedical Sciences Research Institute, the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology in Japan.

Other studies have also looked into the specific health benefits to be had with a nano bath, from cosmetic to therapeutic:

·       Reduction of refractory dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, and psoriasis Vulgaris

·       Increased metabolism and energy levels

·       Better sleep quality

·       Softer skin

·       Increased and lasting blood oxygen levels

·       Decreased inflammation and pain

·       Skin rejuvenation

·       Muscle relaxation

Also dubbed the Fountain of Youth, a nano bath has deep cleansing and exfoliating capabilities that leaves skin moisturised, hydrated and feeling silky smooth in only twenty minutes.

As a microbubble therapy system, its skin regeneration capabilities have also provided much-needed relief for sufferers of skin conditions such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, eczema and ichthyosis.

The nano bath has also been shown to be of significant therapeutic value to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. As is commonly known, radiation therapy can result in severe side effects, including the development of radiation resistance. However, a 2018 study that looked at the use of oxygen nanobubble water to overcome resistance to radiation in cancer cell lines via the suppression of the hypoxia-inducible factor 1-α (HIF‑1α) subunit, yielded impressive results – significantly suppressing hypoxia-induced resistance. Importantly, the use of nanobubbles did not affect the viability and radiation sensitivity of the cancer cell lines, or the non‑cancerous cell line, BEAS‑2B, under normoxic conditions.

The Science

Oxygen is a natural cleanser, and the skin uses oxygen to kill bacteria, stimulate the immune system, promote healing, and supply energy to cells. Oxygen is the critical component in a nano bath where the level of dissolved oxygen exceeds 13mg/L, which is up to 70% more than regular tap water. This level of oxygen saturation is achieved using the principle of Henry’s Law whereby increasing the pressure around the water means the water can hold more gas.

By immersing the body in water with elevated levels of dissolved ‘wet oxygen’, effective amounts of oxygen enter the pores and hair follicles, deep enough to reach the sebaceous glands.

The negative ions in a nano bath also fight free radicals and improve serotonin levels. In simple terms, an ion is an electrically charged atom. Positive ions (cations) are known as free radicals because they steal electrons from healthy cells to neutralise their own charge, causing cellular damage. Negative ions fight these free radicals. High concentrations of negative ions are also shown to help improve serotonin levels, essential for high energy and a positive mood.
